Body Language Tells All: Individualized Cat Care

I prefer to take a calm, patient and conservative approach when working with cats. I always let them set the pace and tone of any interaction. I have a good eye for noticing body language and how a cat may be feeling, so I am able to adjust my approach in response to their behavior. If they are curious and seeking attention, I engage more proactively. If they are more shy and reserved, I give them extra space and time. For shy guys, I will utilize more subtle methods to establish trust like leaving some treats for kitty in order to associate myself with positive things. Cats seem to respond well to my approach and gravitate towards me.

I have been fostering cats since 2022 and most recently have been fostering with a really wonderful organization, East County Animal Rescue. While fostering, I have had to take care of numerous cats and kittens in varying stages of health, so I am very skilled at giving kitties big and small medications of all kinds. Right now I am taking a break from fostering in order to spend more time focusing on TNR (trap neuter release) efforts. There are so many kitties on the streets. I’ve learned how much TNR is making a difference in the quality of their lives by reducing overpopulation and the health problems these cats face because of it.

Utilizing My Cat Skills and Experience

I have been a cat lover all my life and have had cats in my family since I was a kid. I currently have 4 cats of my own; Oliver (6), Penny (3), Bimbo 2.5) and Garfield (2). Oliver is the leader of the pack, and is calm and confident. Penny is the big sister who keeps everyone in line. Bimbo is sassy and silly, and Garfield is a big love bug.

I work remotely for the County of San Diego in Child and Family Well-Being and get a bit of cabin fever from being stuck in the house so much. Working with Tabby Manor allows me to spend time out in the world doing what I love, caring for kitties! I love providing cats what they need, whether that be playtime, a treat or some pets. I am excited to care for your kitties and spend time giving them all the attention and love! I look forward to meeting you and the fur-amily!
